The Luminary Gala

BE Inspired, BE Enlightened, BE Fulfilled!

Saturday, May 22, will be an inspiring evening that will illuminate the Arts and all of its supporters, as the High Point Area Arts Council hosts The Luminary Gala, an annual arts awards ball. This event plays host to the presentation of the 2010 Mayors’ Arts Awards, where those “luminaries” from the community will be recognized and honored for their individual, corporate, and educational support of the arts. 

High Point Country Club at Emerywood is the place for all of High Point ’s “shiny, happy people” to be together and have a beautiful time. This choice evening begins at 7:00 p.m. with a social hour, including passed hors d’oeuvers, followed by a plated dinner at 8:00 p.m. The awards presentations take place during the seated dinner and will be presented by High Point ’s own eminent Mayor Becky Smothers. This stellar celebration continues to be fun-filled with dancing at 9:00 p.m. to music of Timeless.

Cost for the black tie optional/sparkle a must evening is $150 per couple, and $75 per individual, which includes complimentary beer and wine. There is a cash bar available.  When pre-paid reservations are made, each individual will receive a special token which gains their entry to the gala. This also makes them eligible to enter a drawing for the door prize. The reservation deadline is May 17.

The proceeds from this friend-raising event will support the programs of the Arts Council and its affiliated arts organizations.
