After months of transformation, the doors of the new and improved Centennial Station Arts Center are opening wide for a night unlike any other, an evening where creativity swirls, cultures converge, masks conceal and reveal, and the entire community comes together to celebrate the arts that shape our city.

 

Welcome to Arti Gras: A Black and White Extravaganza, the High Point Arts Council’s annual fundraising and grand reopening event, where the building itself becomes part of the story.    Once a historic rail station, now a renewed artistic hub, Centennial Station has been reborn. And on this night, it becomes the stage for an unforgettable masquerade of imagination. 

 

This special evening marks a dual celebration: the grand unveiling of our newly renovated space made possible by the generosity of the David R. Hayworth Foundation and our 64th year of enriching the High Point community through the arts.

 

Guests will be swept into a multi-cultural celebration filled with artistic surprises at every turn with live performers igniting the space with music, movement, and color; visual art installations that transform familiar corners into something entirely new; and interactive moments that invite everyone to play a role in the unfolding narrative of High Point’s creative future.

The evening starts with a VIP party at 6:00 pm for those who like to party early, with specialty cocktails, food, and sounds from TOO PHAT BRASS BAND celebrating the culture and tradition of New Orleans. General Admission ticket holders get started at 7:00 pm and will enjoy the high energy of CAROLINA SOUL BAND, food and dessert stations from local caterers, and a cash bar. For those who like to celebrate a bit later, our Late Night ticket holders start the party at 9:00 pm and keep it going with DJ tunes and TAP THAT ASH Mobile Cigar Lounge.

 

This is not just a party. It’s a community-centric extravaganza, a night of joy, elegance, and expression that honors the people and stories behind our vibrant arts scene. Arti Gras becomes a transitional story of its own, celebrating where we’ve been, and boldly stepping into what’s next.
